FLEMING HONORED BY AMERICAN BANKERS ASSOCIATION WITH EMERGING LEADER AWARD

 

Olanta, SC – Margi Fleming, Senior Vice President, The Citizens Bank of Florence, SC, will be honored by the American Bankers Association as a recipient of its 2024 ABA Emerging Leader Awards during the upcoming ABA Annual Convention Oct. 27-29 in New York. This award recognizes the next generation of bank leaders who are committed to the highest standards of achievement and service to both their industry and local communities.

The winners were selected by a diverse steering committee of industry professionals after a review of nominations from banks across the country. The qualities and characteristics the committee evaluated as judging criteria included dedication to the profession, inventiveness, leadership skills, mentoring ability, personal integrity, tenure at the bank and broader commitment to a career in banking, sustained career progress, and academic training including advanced degrees and certificates/certifications.

Margi McCaslan Fleming, a native of Abbeville, SC, has cultivated a life deeply rooted in family and community. Married to Joshua Fleming and are proud parents of two daughters, Addison and Campbell. Margi holds the position of Senior Vice President at The Citizens Bank (TCB), where she oversees Human Resources, Marketing, and Branch Administration. Margi's journey with TCB began in 2006 as a Mortgage Lender. She transitioned to Human Resources in 2008, took on additional Marketing responsibilities in 2012, and expanded her leadership to include Branch Administration in 2021. Her dedication to professional growth is exemplified by her recent achievement of the Certified Plan Sponsor Professional (CPSP) certification in the summer of 2023. Margi is passionate about community banking, actively advocating for the industry at local, state, and national levels. She is also actively engaged with the state banking associations in South Carolina, serving as the First Vice Chair of the South Carolina Bankers Association Young Bankers Board of Directors and contributing to the Human Resources Committee. Margi is a proud graduate of Winthrop University, where she earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship and is an alumna of the South Carolina Bankers School.
